The Home Information Support Project (HISP) provides a range of services drawing on a comprehensive database and network of contacts, which means that you will get an answer to your queries about benefits, housing, health, social activities and transport. If we don't already know the answer to your question, we will use our resources to find out and get back to you as quickly as possible.
Form filling - We'll help fill in any forms you are having difficulty with (except tax forms). We have particular expertise in benefit forms and are a designated Alternative Office, which means that we have the authority to verify original documents during our visit that previously would have needed to be sent to the Department of Work and Pensions.
Home visits - We can offer information and advice in your own home at a time convenient to you. This is ideal if you have a disability that makes getting out difficult, if your problem is too complicated to talk through on the phone.
Support and referrals - This covers a range of activities from challenging benefit decisions to contacting organisations on your behalf. If we are the most appropriate people to be involved, then we will be there to help. If not, we will, with your permission, put the right people in touch with you.
